Always cooking from the heart for his customers. |
Valentino or "Val," discovered his love for cooking when he used to watch his father as a young boy bake Filipino bread called Pan de Sal in the small town where he grew up in the Philippines. Since then, he quickly knew he wanted to share his passion with the world. He opened his first store in 1997, called "Val's Asian Mart" in Darien, where he served his loyal customers for over 20 years. Due to health reasons, he was forced to step away from the physical cooking demand. During his time away from the kitchen, he realized how much he missed sharing his passion with others. Val worked hard to better his health and vowed he would someday get to serve his food again. And that's exactly what he did. He opened "Val's Kitchen and Plus" at his new location in Darien and is again serving the same home-cooked Filipino food. The food he makes for his customers has the same amount of love as the home-cooked dishes he would make for his family. For Val, everyone is family, and it radiates through his cooking. Val has been serving his delicious traditional Filipino dishes like Chicken Adobo, Pancit Noodles, and conventional Filipino baked goods such as Pan de Sal, Pan de Coco, and his famous, flaky Hopia for almost three decades and is filled with joy to be able to do it once more. Val is excited to welcome new and old customers to his new location and is ready to serve you the finest home-cooked Filipino food in the Chicago suburbs.
